Mortgage Market Guide

The weekly Mortgage Market Guide provides an overview of the financial markets as they relate to mortgages and quite possibly the local Portland Oregon real estate market.  This past week was again a volatile market as we saw fixed home loan rates go up by about .375% with possibly more increases to come.

The fluctuation in the bond market may not be over as we have several key economic reports due for release this week including:  Retail Sales, Initial Jobless Claims, Consumer Sentiment and the inflation-measuring Consumer Price Index.  Bad news means bonds will rise and home loans will drop, so let’s keep an eye on the reports this week to see how this impacts the Portland Oregon real estate market.
